astrosmurf every night looks out of his mushroom house and dreams
of going to space. and one day he decided to build a big spaceship.
he put on his helmet and spacesuit and became astrosmurf. unfortunately
his spaceship will never be able to take off but papa smurf and
the other smurfs help give him an outer space experience. |

the schlips
to make astrosmurf’s outer space experience seem real, they
smurfs carried his spaceship into an inactive volcano. and with
the help of papa smurfs magical potion turned the smurfs into schlips,
it turned their skins orange, their hair grew long and black, and
they wore furry pants. all this to make astrosmurf happy. |

king smurf
when papa smurf was away on a trip, the smurfs decided to choose
a new leader. the elected smurf immediately put on a crown, an ermine
coat, picks up a sceptre and calls himself the king smurf. he is
rather like a dictator, and the smurfs coup d'etat took him to the
bush and started a civil war. luckily, papa smurf returned quickly
to the forest and everything returns to normal. |

apprentice smurf
wanting to be like papa smurf, he tries a magic potion taken from
gargamel’s book of spells. he drinks the cocktail and turns
into a monster with a big nose and green skin just like a crocodile.
he couldn’t find an antidote so had to sneak into gargamel’s
place, luckily with the help of the other smurfs, he returns back
to normal. |

flying smurf
flying smurf has only one dream, just like the wright brothers,
to fly like a bird. he tries everything possible to make his dream
a reality. he stuck feathers to his self, tried making wings, tries
using a kite, springs on his feet, the wings of a windmill, magic
broomsticks and last of all even a rocket. even after trying to
use soap bubbles and a hot air balloon he never gave up. he drank
a magical potion that made him lighter than air. unfortunately he
was so light he had to eat bricks to come back to the ground again. |

clockwork smurf
handy created clockwork smurf to help him out with his domestic
chores. everyone finds clockwork smurf useful and he makes scrumptious
sarsaparilla soup for all the other smurfs. every now and again
he leaves the smurfs but comes back often just to say hello to his
fellow smurfs and takes this occasion to have his mechanical parts
inside overhauled. |

grandpa smurf
grandpa smurf is the oldest of the smurfs. he has not taken over
papa smurfs chief role but his energy and enthusiasm is very impressive.
he wears a bright yellow cap and trousers, grandpa smurf wears pince-nez
glasses. and is a passionate storyteller and loves to show off his
souvenirs he collected during his travels. |
